1/2 c. coconut
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
3 c. Quaker Natural Cereal
1/2 c. nuts and

Pineapple Angle Food Cake

INGREDIENTS:

10 oz. can crushed pineapples

1 small pkg. Vanilla or Banana pudding (dry)

1 cup or more of Cool Whip.

1 Angle Food Cake (sliced evenly across cake twice.)

6-8 med strawberries (for topping)

Never Fail Fudge

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup (1/8 lb) butter or margarine
  • 1 small can (5 oz. ) evaporated milk
  • 1 jar (7 1/2 oz) Marshmallow Fluff
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1 large (12 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate pieces

1 cup walnuts or peanuts

Hamburger Stroganoff

1 lb. hamburger
8 to 10 oz. bag wide egg noodles
1 can cream of mushroom soup
3 tbsp. sour cream
2 tbsp. chopped onion
Salt and pepper
1 sm. can sliced mushrooms (optional)

Crispy Fried Chicken

2 1/2 to 3 lbs. cut up frying chicken

SEASONED FLOUR

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. garlic salt or 1⁄2 tsp. garlic powder and 1 1⁄2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. paprika

Combine all ingredients; set aside.

CRISPY BATTER

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. flat beer or water
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten

Directions:

  • Combine flour and seasonings in bowl. Combine egg yolks and beer (or water). Add gradually to dry ingredients.
  • Heat oil in deep fryer to 365 degrees.
  • Moisten chicken pieces.
  • Dip in seasoned flour, then batter, then back in seasoned flour.
  • Fry in hot oil 15 to 18 minutes until well browned. Drain on paper.

Creamed Stewed Tomatoes

Ingredients:

1 small can of diced tomatoes

3 tbsp. flour

1⁄2 cup milk

salt, to taste

pepper, to taste

sugar, to taste

Directions:

Add flour to milk; stir so there are no lumps

Heat tomatoes in it’s own liquids in a medium sauce pan.

Add milk mixture to tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar; Cook until think.

Pour creamed stewed tomatoes over mashed potatoes or eat by itself.

Crispy Fried Chicken

Ingredients:

1 cup yellow cornmeal

2 tsp. salt

1/4 – 1/2  tsp. garlic powder

1 tbsp. water

1 egg, beaten

1 (2 1⁄2 t 3 lb. fryer, cut up

Crisco of Canola Oil

Directions:

Combine dry ingredients in a plastic bag. In a bowl combine water and beaten egg. Dip chicken in egg mixture and then in bag of cornmeal mixture. Put in skillet, skin side up. Pan fry about 40 to 45 minutes or until tender and golden brown.
